The corrosion resistance of stainless steel depends on the presence of an invisible protectiveoxide surface. Activities such as welding, coarse grinding, use of carbon steel tools can embed grease, dirt and iron into the surface, damaging the passive protective layer. Handling and transport of stainless steel is often a frequent source of contamination.
For nearly 50 years, Bradford Derustit has provided pickling products that will restore a clean surface to the standard of the original corrosion resistance. Using our pickling products will give a better result than alternative surface treatments such as grinding and polishing.
Improve surface finish
Clean, brighten and passivate stainless steel.
Pickling and Passivation
Pickling is the complete removal of oxides, scale and contamination from stainless steel surfaces.
Passivation is the regeneration of the passive film that protects the stainless steel surface to resist corrosion.
Passivation will start immediately after the complete removal of contamination. It may take approximately 24 hours to achieve maximum effectiveness.
