Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bradford Derustit Corp. ("Bradford Derustit," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit or make a purchase on https://derustit.com (the "Site"). We are a business-to-business supplier of stainless steel passivation and rust-removal chemicals based in Yorba Linda, California, USA.

Information We Collect

Information you provide. When you create an account, place an order, request a quote, or contact us, we collect the information you give us — typically your name, company, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, and the details of your order or inquiry.

Payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we retain only limited details such as the last four digits and the payment confirmation needed to manage your order. Purchase orders are invoiced through QuickBooks Online (Intuit).

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we automatically collect usage information through first-party cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site or link that referred you, and the dates and times of your visits. We use this to understand how the Site is used and to improve it. For privacy, we do not store your raw IP address — it is converted into a one-way, salted cryptographic hash before storage and cannot be reversed back into your address.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Essential cookies that keep you signed in and remember your cart. The Site will not work properly without these.
  • Analytics cookies (first-party) that assign a random identifier so we can measure visits and how the Site is used. These do not contain your name or contact details.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; if you do, some parts of the Site may not function. See "Your Choices" below for how to opt out of analytics and advertising.

How We Use Information

  • To process, fulfill, ship, and invoice your orders;
  • To provide customer support and respond to your inquiries;
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • To measure the effectiveness of our website and advertising;
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and
  • To comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as needed to run our business, with service providers who are permitted to use it solely to perform services for us:

  • Stripe — payment processing;
  • Intuit / QuickBooks Online — invoicing and accounting;
  • UPS and freight carriers — shipping and delivery;
  • Google Workspace — email correspondence;
  • Linode (Akamai) — website hosting and encrypted backups;
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — we use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure advertising performance. This may involve sharing hashed identifiers (such as a hashed email) and event information about purchases. Under California law this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; see "Your Choices."

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bradford Derustit, our customers, or others. If our business is involved in a merger or sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Your Choices

Analytics and advertising opt-out. You can opt out of our analytics and of advertising measurement (including the Meta Pixel) by emailing us at the address below, or by blocking or clearing cookies in your browser. You can also adjust your ad preferences directly with Meta in your Facebook/Instagram settings.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or receive a copy of it, to request its deletion, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity before responding.

Other regions. Customers in Canada, Mexico, and other countries may have similar rights under their local laws. Contact us and we will work with you in good faith to honor applicable requests.

Data Retention

We keep order, account, and transaction records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Pseudonymized analytics data is kept only for as long as it is useful for understanding and improving the Site, after which it is deleted or further aggregated.

Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), pseudonymization of analytics identifiers, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Visitors

We operate in the United States, and any information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. By using the Site, you understand that your information will be handled as described in this policy.

Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Links to Other Sites

The Site may contain links to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new policy on this page.
